Malaika Arora Khan postponed her New Year vacation with husband Arbaaz Khan, when an entertainment group offered her a large undisclosed sum for her anthemic Munni jig at Amby Valley. Katrina Kaif, on the other hand, has refused to dance to her Sheila ki Jawaani number from Tees Maar Khan.

Katrina would rather party than perform for partygoers

Says a source close to Kaif, "A suburban luxury hotel offered her Rs 3.5 crores for the jig. Frankly, Katrina was tempted. But she backed out in time."

Munni and Sheila are Salman Khan's sister-in-law Malaika and former girlfriend Katrina Kaif respectively. The stunning ladies, never close friends but cordial enough to be called civil acquaintances, have revealed a contrasting attitude to their dance numbers.

Kaif screams in protest. "Are you crazy? I am not dancing at any hotel on New Year's eve. To be entertaining a live audience that night instead of enjoying oneself as another year slips in -- how sad is that! It's almost like you are telling the audience, 'Hey guys, I don't have a life.'

It's true I am not going on my annual family holiday, but the reason is not a lucrative dance offer."

Interestingly, last year Kaif was almost dragged to court for opting out of a New Year's eve performance at a luxury hotel in Mumbai. This year, she was adamant. No dancing for drunken revelers on December 31.

Jacqueline Expose Than Mallika

The Bhatts are known to sprinkle their films with titillating stuff. The sequel of Murder will be another milestone in their filmography.

In 2005, Mallika Sherawat scaled high on the oomphometer with her kisses and lovemaking scenes galore in director Anurag Basu’s Murder. Now, in the film’s sequel Murder 2, Basu is out, so is Mallika. In is the Bhatts’ new favourite Mohit Suri who is directing the film, and stepping into the hot vacuum left by Mallika’s exit is the sultry Sri Lankan hottie Jacqueline Fernandez.

The buzz is that Jacqueline, who’s desperate for a hit film in her resumé, is doing some unprecedented (for her) skin show in Murder 2. Her character is shown to have an exceptional sexual streak and is clad in skimpy dresses throughout.

And of course, a steamy lovemaking scene with co-star Emraan Hashmi is essential to the plot.

Mohit Suri, the sequel’s director, admits that the movie buffs are “anticipating steamier and more intense lovemaking scenes in the sequel.”

Kiran’s Dhobi Ghat is complete and is ready to hit the theatres on February 11. The first-time director has already earned the name of being a sensitive, realistic filmmaker. So, what is going to be her take on Indian reality shows? As she is quite a pro in portraying complex human relationships after Dhobi Ghat, this film will also try to show the interpersonal relationships between the participants on these shows and how their emotions are often compromised with, reports a daily.

Priyanka Chopra and Shahid Kapoor, the couple who has got everyone perplexed about their relationship status, are now set for a romantic New Year’s Eve.

That’s what the latest buzz in tinsel town says. Anyone who saw the duo together on Karan Johar’s show Koffee With Karan would swear by their chemistry - how Shahid teased Priyanka endlessly and how she played along coyly.

Now, having turned down a lucrative offer to perform on New Year’s Eve, Priyanka, we hear, is set to fly to Chandigarh to ring in 2011 with Shahid, who is shooting dad’s directorial debut Mausum there.

Well, going by the thanda mausam in Chandigarh, the duo is likely to have a cozy reunion. We hear that Shahid plans to take a weekend off from the film and whisk Priyanka away to a resort.

Spice Less Film Mirch fails..

Based on the tales of the ancient Panchatantra, ‘Mirch’ depicts situations of two different time zones - the ‘present’ and the ‘period’. The film is all about sex, eroticism, adultery, passion, frustration and a woman’s dilemma in the bedroom. Directed by Vinay Shukla, the film has an ensemble cast but it fails to deliver what it had promised.

The filmmaker, who failed to allure audiences with his previous film, ‘Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche’,almost eight years back, disappoints once again. This time, he attempts to depict the film world in his film. Manav played by Arunoday Singh is a frustrated director as no one takes his script for two long years. Shahana Goswami plays Ruchi, his girlfriend, who is a film editor. She organizes his meeting with Nitin, a producer (Sushant Singh).

In order to get work, Manav narrates Maya’s story to Nitin. Maya (Raima Sen) is married to Kashi (Rajpal Yadav) and is caught red handed by him with another man in bed. Nitin falls in love with the script and tells Manav to write similar stories. The three stories that Manav writes have Konkona Sen Sharma, Raima Sen, Boman Irani, Shreyas Talpade, Arunoday Singh and Prem Chopra in them.

Raima Sen and Konkana played over-sexed women who are full of lust and sexuality. But it seems as if the two actresses have not been happy performing such characters. The female characters in the three stories within the film are shown indulging in adultery. It shows the politics of sex and how lust over powers people.

Vinay Shukla presents a different story but the film is not convincing. Average performances of artists, feeble screenplay and an over all poor treatment makes it dull.

Katrina in Prakash Jha's Satsang

Katrina gets set to play a woman robed in ochre and in search of spirituality in the Prakash Jha film

After opting out of Prakash Jha's Aarakshan, Katrina Kaif plays the central character in Satsang, the director's upcoming film exposing the multi-billion global religion factory in India.

After a critically acclaimed performance in Raajneeti, Kat seems dead serious about getting into serious non-glamorous roles.

However, her role in Satsang is so complex that even Jha was not sure, initially, if the actress could deliver.

"It would be the most challenging part of my career so far," says Katrina, who played a pivotal character in the director's Raajneeti.

In Satsang, she doesn't just play the central character, but also a semi-autobiographical character. The character of a woman from the West in search of Oriental spiritualism is modelled on a real-life character.

This will be a startling departure from her glamorous image .The decision to do Satsang came after much brainstorming between the actress and director.

Even before Raajneeti, Jha was sure that Kat was perfect for the part in Satsang in terms of physical appearance.

He realised she could deliver the strength required by the central character in Satsang while shooting for the political thriller.

In Satsang, Kat will don ochre robes and will appear without makeup. She would also have to get informed on the intricacies of the multi-billion religious industry in India."

KK's up to the task. She says, confidently, "Prakashji and I have discussed the part in detail. This is one film that I've do the most preparation for. I'm open to the challenge."

Kangna Ranaut gifted a lehenga-choli costing Rs. 1.5 lakh to a fan for her wedding.

It happened like this: The actress got a fan mail from Pratik Munot on her website. He said he was getting married on January 23.

His fiancee, Viral Jain, was also a big fan of hers and that she loved her green lehenga on the posters of Tanu Weds Manu. In fact, they were looking for a similar one, and they invited her to the wedding.

Informs a source, “Kangna asked her manager to get in touch with the producers of TWM and check if they would give the lehenga to Pratik for Viral.

The producers agreed and Kangna informed the couple that while she would not be able to attend the wedding she was sending them the lehenga as a gift.”

Director of TWM, Aanand Rai confirms, “Yes, Kangna did ask us to give the lehenga to a fan who wrote to her on the website. We are happy to oblige and wish the couple the best!”

Pratik says, “I would like to gift Viral the lehenga for the sangeet on January 24 and am waiting to receive it. Generally we don’t get a reply from any star so it was surprising when Kangna’s manager contacted me.

I hope I get the lehenga soon as Viral will have to get her fittings done.”

Bipasa For International Debut

Delhi: Bollywood actress Bipasha Basu sports a simple and sombre look, with minimal jewellery and make-up for her role as a Maratha warrior in her first international film ‘Singularity’.

Bipasha, who is usually seen in a glamorous avatar in most of her films, has posted a picture from the movie on her Twitter page.

Though her complete look is not visible, the picture shows her wearing a red-dupatta pulled over head, an ornate neck piece and a maang-tika.

"My first ever period character. Tulaja, a Maratha bodyguard," Bipasha posted along with her picture.

The Bengali actress, who is currently in Gold Coast, Australia, shooting her part with Hollywood actor Josh Hartnett, had earlier admitted being nervous about the movie which is being directed by with English-French director Roland Joffe.

"I am very excited, but have to admit that I am also a little nervous," Bipasha had told reporters.

BB-4 & Rakhi Ka Insaaf “Adult ”

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry has asked channels airing TV shows ‘Big Boss’ and ‘Rakhi ka Insaaf’ to air them only between 11 PM and 5 AM, as they are not suitable for universal viewing.

Not only this. The shows cannot also be repeated in any other time slot or shown on news programmes either. The government has even advised these two reality shows to carry bands showing “not suitable for children”.

The decision was taken following numerous complains from viewers as well as the National Commission for Women and social activists who accused the channels of showing explicit content.

Pamela Anderson is in Mumbai, India starring in their version of "Big Brother" entitled "Bigg Boss 4."

No, she's not featured in the show for its entire run, she's just making a three day appearance as a houseguest. She'll make a cool $500,000 for the short stay, too.

Anderson's cameo on the show comes with a purpose though, she's using it as a platform to promote her favorite causes, like PETA and teaching housemates about water purification.

She tells indianexpress.com, "Life is short and I wanted to visit India soon. This is my first trip to India. I wish I could visit the Taj Mahal but I don't like to be away from my sons for long."

Anderson is also doing her fair share around the house. She claims she's used to housework and says, "I do that all the time. I love doing laundry and I cook a lot."

After filming the show she hopes to get some time to shop while in the country so she can bring some saris back to her mother.

She will decide depending on the place that accepts her terms and conditions. It's not just how much she will get paid but her comfort level too and what suits her best."

The terms and conditions being that she will perform only in Mumbai and her performance will only last for a predetermined duration. She also insists on brining her entourage along. Though she is yet to decide if she will perform to a medley of songs or just to Munni Badnaam, it is certain that husband Arbaaz Khan will be involved in the decision-making for her.

I never told Katrina to lose weight. We shot Sheila Ki Jawani in five days and every day we had a new set and new costumes. For the satin bed sheet, we had a 10 feet rotating bed with the men around her.

She would shoot with us and then go and work out at 11.30 pm so that her abs would be toned. Her dedication is tremendous. She didn't feel awkward with so many men around.

Sonaksi Refuse Sex Scene...

Bollywood Actress : Sonakshi Sinha might be just one film old in Bollywood but she is already laying down conditions and making sure she doesn’t miff her mentor Salman Khan in anyway. The actress, whose career decisions are largely taken by Salman, has told the makers of ‘Race 2’ that she under no conditions would don revealing clothes or do any bedroom scenes for the film.

Confirming the news, a source told a daily, “It’s like a clause. Sonakshi was polite but clear that she won’t expose in ‘Race 2’. The first version of the ‘Race’ series was quite steamy. But the second version is even steamier. Sonakshi was told about this, so she laid down her cards on the table.”

What’s more is that Sonakshi has refused to fall the age old trick where the directors state that such explicit scenes are necessary as the script demands it.

“It goes without saying that Ms Sinha will not perform any lovemaking or smooching scenes in the film. Adjustments have been made to suit Sonakshi, who was being considered for the film for quite some time. Knowing her Indian image and shy nature, this was more or less expected. The producer of the film, Ramesh Taurani, and the directors, Abbas-Mustan, are very happy to have her on board,” adds the source.
