The Voyage of the Dawn Treader

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader is a 2010 3D fantasy-adventure film based on The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the third novel in C. S. Lewis's epic fantasy series The Chronicles of Narnia (and fifth chronologically). It is the third installment in The Chronicles of Narnia film series from Walden Media. Unlike the earlier two films, it was distributed by 20th Century Fox; it was the first to be released in Digital 3D.

The film is set three years after the events of the previous film in Narnia, and one year in England. The two youngest Pevensie siblings, Edmund (Skandar Keynes) and Lucy (Georgie Henley), are transported back to Narnia along with their cousin Eustace Scrubb (Will Poulter). They join the new king of Narnia, Caspian (Ben Barnes), in his quest to rescue seven lost lords to save Narnia from a corrupting evil that resides on a dark island. Each character is tested as they journey to the home of the great lion Aslan at the far end of the world.

The film premiered on November 30, 2010, at a Royal Film Performance in London. It had a wide theatrical release in traditional 2D, RealD 3D, and Digital 3D, and a limited release in 4D worldwide on December 10.

Kaalo 2010 Movie Review

India's first creature based daytime horror film, Kaalo is about a deadly witch who attacks a bus in the deserts of Rajasthan and hunts down a girl. Based on a folktale, the story of Kaalo revolves around a desert witch by the same name. Kaalo was a witch who lived in Kulbhata during the 18th century. She was killed and buried by angry villagers for sacrificing young nubile girls to satisfy her greed for immortality, but her fear lived on. Year's later villagers spoke of Kaalo's sightings yet again. They claimed she was even more angry and dangerous and she was back to finish what she left incomplete Kulbhata was vacated overnight by scared villagers. All roads leading to Kulbhata were sealed by horrifying tales of Kaalo killing anyone who dared to enter Kulbhata until a bus carrying eleven passengers on its way to Kuldevi had to pass through Kulbhata. One of the passengers on the bus was a twelve-year-old girl named Shona who was traveling alone to spend her vacation at her grandmother's house in the neighboring village. Shona was clever, witty and cheerful. She soon became the life of the journey. Everyone loved her endearing manners. Especially the reclusive and reticent Sameer, who was traveling with a bag loaded with gun powder to blast a small hillock which would give way to a water canal for his drought hit village.Badly disfigured and thirsty for blood, Kaalo could smell the girl from miles away and headed straight for the bus. She would kill everyone who came in her way, she had to have the girl anyhow When the passengers suddenly realized they were staring into death everything changed From being the life of the journey, Shona became their very reason for dying.Everyone wanted her out of the bus, some even used her as a bait to lure Kaalo away from themselves. Human relations changed as they fought for their survival. One man stood up to Shona but for Sameer it didn't matter if Kaalo was a creature or a witch. Spice Less Film Mirch fails..

Based on the tales of the ancient Panchatantra, ‘Mirch’ depicts situations of two different time zones - the ‘present’ and the ‘period’. The film is all about sex, eroticism, adultery, passion, frustration and a woman’s dilemma in the bedroom. Directed by Vinay Shukla, the film has an ensemble cast but it fails to deliver what it had promised.

The filmmaker, who failed to allure audiences with his previous film, ‘Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche’,almost eight years back, disappoints once again. This time, he attempts to depict the film world in his film. Manav played by Arunoday Singh is a frustrated director as no one takes his script for two long years. Shahana Goswami plays Ruchi, his girlfriend, who is a film editor. She organizes his meeting with Nitin, a producer (Sushant Singh).

In order to get work, Manav narrates Maya’s story to Nitin. Maya (Raima Sen) is married to Kashi (Rajpal Yadav) and is caught red handed by him with another man in bed. Nitin falls in love with the script and tells Manav to write similar stories. The three stories that Manav writes have Konkona Sen Sharma, Raima Sen, Boman Irani, Shreyas Talpade, Arunoday Singh and Prem Chopra in them.

Raima Sen and Konkana played over-sexed women who are full of lust and sexuality. But it seems as if the two actresses have not been happy performing such characters. The female characters in the three stories within the film are shown indulging in adultery. It shows the politics of sex and how lust over powers people.

Vinay Shukla presents a different story but the film is not convincing. Average performances of artists, feeble screenplay and an over all poor treatment makes it dull.
